Adults know the despair.  Shirt sticking to the small of your back.  Knees aching from constant bending.   The smell of bleach and other products lingering on under your nails and in your nose hairs.

You just spent the whole morning scrubbing your beautiful tile floor, you just got it to the point where you can see your tired face looking back at you, and it finally seems like the hours were worth it.

But then your eye catches it.  Catches the slightly browned lines between your shining tiles.  So slight that you know guests will never notice, probably not even your spouse, but now you know it’s there: it’s already too late.

For one, you could utilize the tricks of our ancestors and mix a little baking soda and hope that you have a spare toothbrush in the house

But then you’re letting yourself fall into the cycle, your white grout will brown at some point in the next couple of months, and because you’re so acutely aware, you will start seeing the slightest of browning.  And you’ll again be hoping that you have a spare toothbrush around.

There is a savior, though.

In 2018, we know that personality is key, that the individual deserves to be respected for all their quirks and intricacies.  People wish to take their favorite styles, be they traditional or modern or hyper-contemporary, and have the ability to add their own self in some way.

Well, why not add color to your grout?!

This is a cheap and foolproof way to add style and value to your floor or walls.

Color could be added after the fact in the same way that you would need to clean your original grout: using baking soda, a small amount of grout mixture, a few dabs of acrylic paint, and your trusty spare toothbrush.

Or, when your feeling up to a big weekend renovation, you do it yourself!  Just get your favorite acrylic color and mix it in with your grout mixture.  You will not only give your room a pop of color, it will also provide a clean, sleek aesthetic that adds Home and Garden value.
